The Dallas Cowboys and Blue Star Land have added another company to The Star in Frisco: PlainsCapital Bank.
The Dallas-based bank has signed two new leases — a 5,083-square-foot office lease and a 4,000-square-foot retail lease — within the One Cowboys Way in Frisco, which is the world corporate headquarters of the Cowboys.
The new Frisco office will help PlainsCapital Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hilltop Holdings (NYSE: HTH), grow its presence in the North Texas city, said Jamie Robertson, president of the bank’s Frisco location.
“North Texas is one of the fastest growing regions of the country, and The Star in Frisco is located right in the heart of it,” said Robertson, in a statement. “The new location enables us to double the size of our Frisco operations to better serve our growing commercial and individual customer base.
“We believe in building strong relationships with our customers, and we’re making a substantial investment in the future of the area,” he added.
This deal comes on the heels of Bank of America and FM Global setting up large offices in Frisco.
JLL’s Paul Whitman represented PlainsCapital Bank in the deal. Worthey Wiles of Lincoln Property Co. represented the landlord in the office portion of the deal. Robert Dozier of Lincoln Property Co. represented the landlord in the retail portion of the deal.
Frisco is a booming market and the new location will help PlainsCapital Bank deliver services to a growing population, said Whitman, a longtime real estate broker in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The Star in Frisco also had the features the bank wanted for its Frisco workforce, he added.
In all, the Far North Dallas submarket has 7.3 million square feet of office space under construction, with 1.7 million square feet completed year-to-date. Much of that new real estate is located in Plano’s Legacy Business Park and Frisco.
When this new Frisco office opens, it will be PlainsCapital Bank’s 65th location in Texas and its 21st location in North Texas.
