Blue Star Land inks an Amazon lease in its Preston Road business park.
Digital retailing giant Amazon is upping its game with a new Frisco distribution center.
Amazon has leased a new building in Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ Star Business Park off Preston Road.
Amazon has been eyeing the business park south of U.S. Highway 380 for several months.
The new Amazon fulfillment center will have 250,000 square feet of space, said Joe Hickman, general manager of the Jones family’s Blue Star Land real estate firm.
“We will have them hopefully in the building this fall,” Hickman said.
Amazon has recently expanded its fulfillment capabilities in several locations in North Texas including West Dallas, near DFW International Airport, in North Fort Worth and southern Dallas county.
“We are excited to increase our investment in Texas with a new delivery station in Frisco to provide fast and efficient delivery for the community, and provide hundreds of job opportunities for the talented local workforce,” an Amazon representative said in an emailed statement.
In 2018, Blue Star Land bought the more than 200-acre Frisco Park 25 project on Preston Road for almost $38 million. The industrial park was renamed Star Business Park.
A 400,000-square-foot Dallas Cowboys Merchandising Distribution and Sales Center is located in the industrial park.
Earlier this year, Blue Star Land filed plans with Frisco for several additional buildings planned in the project.
“I’ll probably start another 150,000-square-foot speculative building up there this fall,” Hickman said.
Lincoln Property Co. is partnering with Blue Star Land and marketing the buildings.
Blue Star Land has bought other properties for future development in that area.
Blue Star has several Frisco real estate projects, including the Starwood residential community and the mixed-use Dallas Cowboys Star in Frisco project on the Dallas North Tollway.
